Jr NTR's Dragon To Release In Two Parts? Post-Theatrical OTT Deal Locked
Hyderabad, February 12 - Supertstar Jr NTR's highly anticipated pan-India film Dragon, directed by KGF fame Prashanth Neel, is generating strong buzz in industry circles over its release strategy, even though the official release date has yet to be locked. The film is being mounted on a massive scale with ambitious release plans.
According to the latest reports, the makers are considering releasing the film in two parts, despite it being originally planned as a standalone project. The decision is said to stem from the film's massive scale, layered storytelling, and expansive world-building, though an official confirmation is still awaited.
It is said that the makers might go the Dhuradhar way to release both parts (if happen) without much gap. However, complete clarity on splitting the film into two parts will be made on the editing table. Reports indicate that Prashanth Neel has structured Dragon with a broader narrative arc that could comfortably extend beyond a single film.
Given Neel's track record with large-scale franchises, the possibility of splitting the project into two cinematic instalments is being actively discussed within the production unit, with a final call expected after the completion of shooting and post-production.
Meanwhile, Dragon has reportedly locked a post-theatrical OTT deal, signalling strong confidence in its commercial prospects. Netflix has reportedly acquired the digital streaming rights. Netflix has been at the forefront in acquiring high-profile Pan India films, and Dragon are another film in the list. The deal has reportedly been locked for all languages.
