Was Hrithik Roshan Approached For Don 3? The Actor Clarifies

Mumbai, February 13 - Director Farhan Akhtar's much-anticipated Don 3 has been put in backburner after an alleged major fallout with Ranveer Singh, who was supposed to play the titular role. The film was announced a long time back, but it kept getting delayed due to various reasons before Ranveer exited it recently.

Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidwani of Excel Entertainment have reportedly claimed that Singh's departure has resulted in financial losses worth 40 crore and are seeking compensation, while Ranveer has pushed back, accusing the banner of unprofessional conduct and a lack of commitment.

According to the reports, Ranveer wasn't happy with the continuous delay and reportedly argued that the film was delayed because Farhan and Ritesh were unsure of mounting a project of that scale with him. Reports stated that Ranveer has also alleged that Excel Entertainment attempted to replace him with Hrithik Roshan, which he felt was an insult to his commitment.

However, there is no truth in the claims that Hrithi was approached for the movie. Variety India reports that the War actor has clarified that he was never approached for Don 3 at any given time. He requested the media steer clear of any such unverified reports.

The movie was supposed to start by this time, but has been delayed indefinitely after the recent events. While the makers are demanding compensation, Ranveer has firmly resisted the demand, arguing that he bears no financial liability since he did not accept any remuneration or signing amount for the project.
