Boseman attended Howard University in Washington D.C. where he studied theater and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2000. He then moved to New York City to pursue his acting career, where he landed his first television role on the show "Third Watch."

In 2013, Boseman starred in the film "42," which told the story of Jackie Robinson, the first African American to play Major League Baseball. His performance was critically acclaimed and earned him widespread recognition.

However, it was Boseman's role as T'Challa, the Black Panther, that brought him global fame. He first appeared as the character in the 2016 film "Captain America: Civil War" before reprising the role in his own solo film, "Black Panther," in 2018. The film was a massive commercial and critical success, breaking numerous box office records and becoming the highest-grossing solo superhero film of all time.
