Geraldine Page (November 22, 1924 – June 13, 1987) was an American actress who was widely regarded as one of the finest actresses of her generation. Born in Kirksville, Missouri, Page began her acting career in the 1940s and worked primarily in theater before transitioning to film and television in the 1950s.

Page's breakthrough role came in 1952, when she appeared in the Broadway production of Tennessee Williams' "Summer and Smoke." She went on to become a frequent collaborator with Williams, appearing in many of his plays both on stage and on film. She received critical acclaim for her performances in "Sweet Bird of Youth," "The Night of the Iguana," and "A Streetcar Named Desire," for which she won a Tony Award in 1952.

Page also had a successful career in film, receiving eight Academy Award nominations over the course of her career. She received nominations for her performances in "Hondo," "Summer and Smoke," "You're a Big Boy Now," "Pete 'n' Tillie," "Interiors," "The Pope of Greenwich Village," and "The Trip to Bountiful." She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in "The Trip to Bountiful" in 1986.

In addition to her work on stage and screen, Page was also a respected acting teacher and mentor. She taught at the HB Studio in New York City and worked with many up-and-coming actors over the years.

Page was known for her versatility as an actress and her ability to embody a wide range of characters. She was equally at home in dramatic and comedic roles, and was praised for her ability to bring nuance and depth to even the smallest of parts.
