Steve McQueen (1930-1980) was an American actor, known for his iconic roles in films such as "The Great Escape", "Bullitt", and "The Thomas Crown Affair". Born in Beech Grove, Indiana, McQueen had a troubled childhood and was eventually sent to a reform school for boys. After serving in the United States Marine Corps, he began pursuing an acting career in New York City. His breakout role came in the television series "Wanted: Dead or Alive", where he played the bounty hunter Josh Randall.

McQueen went on to star in a number of successful films throughout the 1960s and 1970s, earning critical and commercial acclaim for his performances. He was known for his rugged, no-nonsense persona on screen and his dedication to performing his own stunts. In addition to his film career, McQueen was a passionate philanthropist and supported numerous charitable causes.
