The arms industry, also known as the arms trade, is a global industry that manufactures and sells weapons and military technology. It consists of a commercial industry involved in the research and development, engineering, production, and servicing of military materials, equipment, and facilities.
Figures are SIPRI Trend Indicator Values (TIVs) expressed in millions. These numbers may not represent actual financial flows as the prices of the underlying weapons may be as low as zero in the case of military aid.
